Baker Rob | Guide to Gay Melbourne

The Laird

This long-standing bar hosts events catered towards male-identifying crowds. Focused on creating an inclusive space the laird is frequented by bears, leather daddies and anyone who admires. With regular events such as sing stud, alliance, and bear den nights, you sure to find an event and some new mates

The Peel

A stalwart if the inner north the Peel holds a special place in my heart. It doesn’t look like it did 25 years ago when I embraced it’s dark room upstairs, it still brings in a good crowd with thumping beats and special events. You better the ready to party, the Peel trades 10pm-7am Friday and Saturday nights.

Sircuit

The party of the inner north, Sircuit opens untill 3am Wednesday to Sunday. With a hint of poppers in the air, if Kylie or Danni are playing you better have your shirt off on the dance floor. If dancing isn’t your thing, the pool tables are kept somewhat free for a quieter night.

Mollies

If you arrive here early enough you can grab some food from the old-school caravan while admiring the view from the first floor looking at over the iconic Smith St. Drag shows and Drag Bingo Wednesday nights will keep you laughing.

Beers for Queers

This newcomer to the inner north scene is a warm space for any queer-identifying person and their allies. Cheap beers, good food the crowd leans closer to a lesbian bar, but with all the gay trimmings. Good music, and a fun dance floor the vibes are great. Hosting events once a month check out their socials for upcoming themed nights.

Manhaus

Catering to a mostly male-identifying crown, manhaus has all your toys and tools for a fun time.

Eagle Leather

Melbourne’s leading leather and rubber supplies store is also part of the community generously donating to community events and healthcare for the LGBTQIA+ family. Opened in 1994 this store continues to provide exclusive items for those wanting to look their best.
